Dressing Table

My husband is a doll! He bought me a new camera for Christmas... I still have a lot to learn about aperture and shutter speed, but here are a few shots from my experimenting this afternoon. This is my antique dressing table that has been handed down all the way from my great-grandmother. The mirror is my mom's from the 1950s.

Christmas Coat

Merry Christmas everyone!  I'm off to a Christmas Eve dinner wearing my Christmas coat that I made from a 1940s pattern... it's becoming a Christmas fashion tradition of mine:) Hope your Christmas is merry and bright!

Little French Girl

Sometimes I just don't feel like putting much effort into my hair but I still want it to look cute! A quick and easy style I love is throwing my hair into a beret(I crocheted this one myself!) and tightly curling my bangs. It really only takes 5 minutes!

Burnt Orange

Thanksgiving was a crisp and clear November day, perfect weather for short sleeves and a capelet! I made this capelet from a 1950's reprinted pattern....the burnt orange is perfect for fall, no? And, a capelet allows much more ease of motion than a jacket for Thanksgiving day festivities such as playing with my parents adorable boxer and shooting rifles at target boards(:

Mad Tea Party

On a misty overcast day, what could be more delightful than a mad tea party? I found these old photos of the mad tea party  my friend Faith and I once created. What sort of nonsensical-ness do you enjoy creating?

Librarian

I've always loved the library. As a child I frowned upon the "two book only" rule at the school library; now, I pay never-ending fines on books that I can't bring myself to return. Being surrounded by knowledge inspires me to make new discoveries, develop my mind and grow my dreams. Hopefully my post will inspire you to do the same!

Moonrise Kingdom

If you've seen Moonrise Kingdom, you'll get this. If you haven't seen it, you need to go watch it. Now. I love the visual beauty of this movie, its nostalgia, and its realization of childhood adventure fantasies. What do you love about Moonrise Kingdom?
