Spring Gardening

I get an itch every spring to do some gardening and today was the perfect sunny day to do it! I gave my herb garden a little makeover. You can read last year's post to see how I created it. Here's a before:

And after:

I decided to go for a whimsical look with this mini fence I added(translation: I have never done this before and I don't have enough patience to make it look perfect).

We have some wild growing succulents and fern looking things in our yard and I transplanted some of them to rock crevices in the herb garden last year and they have multiplied! Yay.

I also added more herbs this year- I'm really excited to have lavender! I even planted some leeks...we'll see how those grow! Happy spring everyone!

Vintage House Party

I know I said I wouldn't be blogging for a while in my last post, but I just remembered that I never shared photos from my vintage house party a few weeks ago! I set up all of my vintage goods in my home and invited some lovely ladies over for hors d'oeuvres and shopping! We had so much fun. If you missed it don't worry- I'll be hosting another one this summer!

Soda Shop

I bought an amazing blouse from Duet Vintage a while back and made a pair of overalls to wear with it this week! The blouse has a milkshake print on it hehe(; Duet Vintage is owned by a gorgeous sweet girl and her shop is full of ready to wear vintage pieces. You should check out her shop and follow her on Instagram! She also has a sister shop Trio Vintage with classic elegant vintage pieces. These overalls were a cinch to make and I'm definitely going to make some more! I made the straps removable so I can wear them just as shorts too. I found these shoes at a shoe store near Spartanburg called Thompson's Famous Name Brand Shoes- these are the most comfy heels I've ever owned. I'm loving this spring weather! It's so nice to feel warm sun shining on bare skin instead of being shrouded in layers. Life has been a little less hectic than usual lately hence the time to sew and blog but I'll be keeping busy for the next few weeks getting ready for a GSO concert so I probably won't be blogging for a while.

xx Sarah

Queen of Hearts

My brother has been wanting to do an Alice in Wonderland inspired photo shoot for a while and of course I was happy to oblige! I decided to go for an Alice meets the Queen of Hearts look because I can identify with both characters. This dress will be for sale on Etsy soon!(unless somebody swoops it up at my vintage party on Friday!)

Dress: Vintage 60s/early 70s
Headband: made by me from a tutorial on Casey Maura's blog
Earrings: Hendersonville market
Belt: thrifted
Gloves: vintage 50s from my grandmother
