Winter Blues

I know we still have quite a bit of winter left, but I'm ready to be done with it so here are some 1940s/40s inspired summer fashions worn by some of my favorite bloggers!  I'm hoping to make a 40s inspired skirt, shorts, and top set myself this spring  (you can find a sketch of it on my Instagram account)!

I've been wanting to share this hat with you all for a while! I bought some 1930s/40s hat patterns years ago but was too intimidated to try making one so my patterns have sat in a box ignored for some time....finally a few months ago I mustered up the courage to try making one. It was very confusing to put together but after many hours of frustration I finally figured it out! I love how much a statement hat can complete an outfit. I really wanted to make a dress to match this hat but that hasn't happened yet...maybe some day!

Heavenly Color Palette

I finally watched Leave Her to Heaven! It was as dreamy as I thought it would be. Most of Gene Tierney's wardrobe is white, beige, blue, and red. I didn't notice until I starting posting this but my outfit in my last post was basically the same color palette!

I love the bold contrasting color palettes of the 1940s! I even chose my wedding colors based on 40s color schemes(I chose light yellow, fuschia, and teal!)

Winter Layers

I don't know about you but I can't wait for spring! I seem to have so many more spring dresses than winter ones in my closet... I am tired of my winter clothes so today I decided to change it up and wear a spring dress layered with some other pieces.

Among the Pine Trees

I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year's Day! I just finished a wonderful lunch at my parents house and thought I would grab a few photos for a blog post! I'm in love with this knit top from Freddies of Pinewood! I made a pair of high waist jeans to go with it and I am loving those too! I've wanted a pair for so long. What are your New Year's resolutions? Mine are about the same as every year I suppose...eat healthier and clean and organize my house!
