Ice Days

It's always fun to have a few days off from life for our annual southern ice storm! I've been wanting to do a post sharing some beautiful interior design spaces from 1950s/60s films for a while and I suppose all this time spent indoors gave me the motivation to share. I was going to share them all in one post but I think I'm going to make it a series! This week's film is....

Mon Oncle- a charming french film that blends classic France with cutting edge 50s fashion and design. A must see for mid-century modern lovers!

 Ever since I watched this film I've wanted a green couch just like this!

Everyday Skirt

A lot of the outfits I sew are not the most practical for everyday life, but once in a while I make something that I end up wearing a lot! I made this grey jersey knit skirt a few weeks ago and I've been practically living in it! It is so comfortable as well as figure flattering and it matches just about anything. I've spent my Wednesday sewing and going out with my honey for pizza...now I'm headed to Target and Lowes(why is it so fun to shop at these stores??) for a few things including paint for a dresser makeover that I hope to share soon!

Red Dolly

I sent one of my black playsuits to Heather of Red Dolly Swim last fall and she has just posted the most wonderful review of it on her blog! She sent me a wonderful high waist retro bikini and I can't wait for warmer weather so that I can post it. Heather has a wonderful retro swimwear line for women, little girls, and maternity! Sweet Dreams

Today was a beautiful February day with mid 60s temperatures whaaat...so I threw a spring outfit together. This dress is a actually a  nightgown  hehe.... Gingham Springham

I know I've posted about how much I love gingham before, but I can't help doing it again! I'm so inspired by modern retro gingham designs...here are a few of my favorites! I'm starting to brainstorm ideas for my Easter dress this year and I think I'm going to do blue gingham. I'll be sure to post my Easter outfit!
