Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend

Well, I promised something glitzy for my next post, and here it is! My aunt sent me all of this vintage jewelry, and what better thing to do than to wear all of it at the same time?

My talented cousin Erin made these pins!

Summer Stroll

Our apartment is just a hop, skip, and a jump from downtown, so I decided to go for a walk today. Maybe not the best idea, since it was like a hundred degrees out... Anyways, here are a few sights from my stroll.

This looks like a giant headless frog from The Wind in the Willows or something!

Jungle

I picked up this amazing parasol in Thailand! It is beautifully hand-painted and perfect for keeping your complexion burn-free during a summer walk.

Something About Sophia

I don't know about you, but it is hard for me to find a perfume that smells like me! I searched for years and finally stumbled across Benefit perfumes. They caught my eye because each bottle comes in  its own little house! I had a feeling that the bottle sitting in the little pink dream-apartment box was waiting for me to pick it up... and, it smelled divine! I love this perfume so much! It makes me feel creative, reminds me of Greenwich Village, and makes me want to put on a lavender fur coat and walk one of those yappy fluffy white dogs down Park Avenue.

The box has so many details! The sides of the box...

The inside of the box...

The back of the box even gives a description of "Sofia"!

Tuscan Rose

I've always dreamed of going to Italy, and someday I actually will! Until then, I console myself with products imported from Italy....that I buy at TJMaxx!

Pink Leather Gloves: $35
A little steep for something I'll use only occasionally....but, pink leather, as soft as butter? With a silk lining? From Italy? I couldn't resist(:

Pink Studded Leather Belt: $35
Again, a little expensive, but, it has a metal snakeskin buckle!!

Tuscan Rose Soap: $3
This was a great find! It smells divine, I love the box, and it is soooo pretty! I don't think I'll ever actually be able to bring myself to use it...

Birds of a Feather

I just love birds! I went berserk when I found the bird fabric for the top I'm wearing. I made the top from a children's diner costume pattern(: The tea kettle is a Goodwill find.

Top: Sarah Bennett
Skirt: vintage
Shoes: Gianni Bini

Rockabilly

I decided that I was tired of posing for blog pictures, so I enlisted the help of one of my favorite celebrities......

That's right, today's post is about Barbie! This Barbie is one of the earliest made- Barbie was launched in 1959, and my mother received hers in the early sixties.

I LOVED looking through the mini Barbie catalogue as a child...

She even came in an amazing carrying case!

Stay tuned! Barbie may be willing to do another shoot in the future, although she didn't promise me!
